OPENING TIMES

The most important thing to remember, is that restaurant opening times are effected by the 35 hour week, and are extremely rigid. Lunch is 12.00 until 14.00, and usually last orders will be at 13.30, ie you need to be in and ordering before then. In the evening, restaurants to not open before 19.00, and last orders will be around 21.00. Many restaurants close on both Sunday and Monday, and if they are open, then they will be closed on one or two other days during the week, so you can find that the place that has been highly recommended to you, is closed on a Wednesday for example, so you need to check in advance. Some restaurants to not have web sites, and the only way to book is by phone, which with limited opening hours can sometimes make life a bit complicated. The upside? Generally the standard of the restaurants in Burgundy is excellent!
